Welcome to your new role as administrator[]

You've been doing lots of good work and I'm very glad to have you. I am also not a huge fan of that claim button, but we didn't actually have an admin. Now that you have been granted that position, you'll see that the button is gone. Cheers! and keep up the good work

I only have one small criticism. In your cleanup, you have destroyed the category structure. I am putting that back. Categories should form a logical hierarchy. If you have better names for the existing categories, that's fine, we can move category members to differently named categories, but don't destroy the hierarchy. — Game widow (talk) 14:05, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. And yes, my apologies about that. I spent several hours yesterday evening thinking over things and realized I could use things like < noinclude> tags instead of removing the articles from the category altogether. Well, at least I've figured out where that went wrong :D I'll be fixing them first thing. - Senrigan (talk) 00:40, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
If the issue was that those documents were in the wrong category, then i'd suggest moving them to a more appropriate category. Basically, every single document should be in at least one category and every category (except the top-level category) should also be in at least one category, such that a logical hierarchy is formed. — Game widow (talk) 13:50, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Great work![]

I'm really pleased to see all the good work you've been putting in to the wiki. It's great to see such dedication. — Game widow (talk) 22:29, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Blocking IP addresses[]

I know it's tempting to block jerks who add nonsense to the wiki, but blocking IP addresses doesn't really block those jerks and can actually block legitimate users who are not at a fixed IP. It's best to block anonymous edits for a fixed time period, rather than indefinitely. I've changed the indefinite blocks to shorter periods — Game widow (talk) 17:51, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, I wasn't sure of the protocol, and iirc I saw previous blocks for spammers set to indefinite so I just copied. - Senrigan (talk) 01:14, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

DPL function broken[]

Decided to take a look at some random pages on a whim, just noticed the DPL function appears to be broken. Uh oh. I'm not sure which update broke it, but it's definitely not from recent user activity - in the last several months we had a mere handful of edits and a couple of signups but that's about it. If anything changed it wasn't from the user side. Unfortunately I'm not sure whether I can repair such extensive damage - the whole point of using DPL was to show similarly categorized pages in a user-friendly summary, rather than force people to wade through huge lists or tables and the headaches that comes from having to maintain manually created links that entails. Also, I'm kind of in a bad place right now work-wise and have little time to go code fixing unfortunately. Either whatever broke DPL gets fixed, or we have to rewrite nearly every single page. - Senrigan (talk) 00:45, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Our technical team tells me the main issue was with "ordermethod=sortkey", so i removed that line and at least the pages now display (though perhaps not as you intended) — Game widow (talk)

Claim system messages[]

Sorry for the inconvenience and nagging nature of those messages. Please ignore them until I get that system reviewed and fixed — Game widow (talk) 15:06, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

I changed your status from "wiki guardian" to "administrator", that should stop those annoying messages — Game widow (talk) 14:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
